We’re thrilled that you’ve chosen to ride with SalteBikes! To help you get the most out of your new e-bike, we’ve put together some key details about our warranty and maintenance requirements. Here’s everything you need to know to keep your bike running smoothly!
Warranty Overview
All of our e-bikes come with a 12-month warranty covering all electronic and mechanical parts, including the battery, motor, controller, display, suspension, and wheels. We want you to enjoy your ride with peace of mind, and this warranty helps ensure that.
Battery Care
To keep your battery in top shape, we ask that you charge it to 100% and use it at least once a month. Leaving it unused or uncharged for long periods can cause irreversible damage and will void the warranty.
Maintenance Checks
We recommend getting at least one general maintenance check within the first 6 months or 500km (whichever comes first). This helps ensure everything stays in peak condition. You can have this done by any qualified technician or mechanic.
Free First Tune-Up Service
To help you get started, we offer a Free First Tune-Up with your purchase! This service should be done within 100km or 6 weeks from when you get your bike. If you can’t make it to SalteBikes in Byron Bay, no worries! Just make sure to have a qualified mechanic perform the check. Any work done by an unqualified mechanic may not be covered under the warranty.
Important Warranty Conditions
- Service Record: If you don’t provide a service record within the first 6 months or 500km, your warranty could be void.
- Transferability: Our warranty only applies to the original buyer and isn’t transferable.
- Wear and Tear: Parts like tyres, brake pads, chains, and others that experience normal wear aren’t covered under the warranty. However, we may replace them within the first 3 months on a case-by-case basis.
Delivery Inspection
We always inspect your bike before shipping, but we recommend that you inspect your bike upon delivery. If you notice any damage, please contact us right away, and we’ll take care of it.
What’s Not Covered
While we want your bike to last, there are certain things not covered by the warranty, including:
- Water damage
- Damage from misuse or accidents
- Normal wear and tear on parts like tyres, brake pads, etc.
- Unauthorized repairs or modifications
Reporting Faults
If you notice a fault with your bike, please report it immediately. Continued use after discovering a fault could cause further damage and may not be covered by the warranty.
Warranty Process
To submit a warranty claim, please navigate to the Contact page of our website and input your contact details and include as much detail as you can in the comments section. We’ll be in touch ASAP and guide you through the next steps, including finding a service center near you. If we can’t find one, we’ll provide a shipping label to have your bike repaired and returned at no extra cost to you.
Care Beyond Warranty
At SalteBikes, we make sure our bikes are safe, durable, and fit for use. If your bike needs any work outside of the warranty, you’ll be responsible for the costs, but we’re always here to help guide you through the process.
